Update: a plugin adds the facebook like button for you
A very talented plugin developer has automated the whole process and by commenting below has alerted me to this plugin.

The video will remain so you can still see the how the process works but seriously the plugin is the best option.
A video tutorial 3min 22secs in length showing how easy it is to add a facebook like button to a regular post or page. This will allow viewers of the page or post to mention it on their facebook page driving more traffic and links to your website. Uses the facebook developers tool.
Link below is to tool that creates the code needed

So quick to implement this valuable tip!
Well done, Tony. Very useful video to help me maximise my investment of time and effort in WordPress.
Thank you.

Here's the WordPress plugin:

No coding necessary, you can customize the look and placement of the button in the settings interface.
Thanks so much for that I will add it to the post, much easier.
Also found this one too, how do you rate it? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/facebook-like…
Hi Tony,
This plugin doesn't support the advanced features (open graph meta tags that help Facebook classify your page, and also the XFBML version of the button)
Thanks for explaining the difference in the plugins, most people would have know about the advanced features your plugin 'Like' has which are very important for SEO impact.
